THE STORY

My journey started at only 15 in the jewel among all tourist destinations in Croatia – Rovinj. My first summer job was a front desk agent. It was right there, behind that old wooden reception desk where my love for hospitality was born. My studies later brought me from Zagreb (Croatia) to Venice (Italy) where I worked and studied at the same time. I have been constantly driven by a desire for mastery; I needed to know more and understand better. I am fluent in 5 languages, possess a Master and a Magister Degree (Economics & hotel management / Sustainable tourism management) and completed various professional educational programmes in HR (Psychology in leadership / Diversity, equity and inclusion).

After completing my studies, I moved from Croatia to the far east, Japan. Over the years, I gained extensive experience with local boutique hotels, as well as reputable national and international chains and companies. I have worked in 8 countries, led teams of up to 150 people and collaborated with more than a dozen nationalities. These experiences helped me to develop understanding for different cultures and values and to respect those differences. During all these years I have had incredible mentors who all deeply influenced and helped develop my management style. I learned how to adjust, lead, teach, plan, stay consistent, coherent, and fair. In every place I work in and with every person I am on a team with, I always seek to leave a special print.

Almost two decades of experience helped sharpen many skills. I am well versed in: developing and implementing new business plans, creating new concepts, restructuring and optimizing operations,cultivating relationships with high-end consumers that result in loyalty, building productive relationships with industry partners, discovering and developing talent, creating, leading and motivating teams consisting of many different nationalities.

I am a firm believer that sharing knowledge strengthens you, not weakens you. This is exactly why after all these years Oltre was born – to offer guidance, answers and advice based on all my experience. I am dedicated to working one-on-one with every client and every project regardless of size and no matter the vision.

I met Nina in May 2020, when I was writing a series of interviews about how experts from different industries reacted to the Covid-19 pandemic. At that time, she was the director of Hotel Little Green Bay Hvar, and we discussed their suppliers, optimization of processes and operations, sustainability, ecology, green technologies, ethics, transparency, and communication in tourism supply chains. I enjoyed talking to Nina the whole time because I had a complete person with clear goals in front of me. She is really an exceptional young woman. Hardworking, responsible, kind, mature, professional, and positive. An ethical person with strong integrity and I deeply believe that Nina has many top achievements ahead of her.
